Garage Band Camp 8-14
Its time to rock out with a full band. This camp is open to all instruments. Students will form a band, learn songs, record them. This camp will also include components of theory, improvisation, and performing as an ensemble.

If you are looking for a fun music camp that combines a variety of musical topics including vocal warm-ups, elementary note reading, introduction to the basics of the keyboard, music history and rhythm development, then this camp is for you! There will be a mini recital at the end of the week where students will show off what they have learned.

New Song School of Music Opens New Location

New Song School of Music, Inc. is a non-profit fine arts educational community center introducing its third location to better serve the north Huntsville and Madison county community. New Song’s mission is to provide quality music instruction in a wholesome environment for all instruments and abilities and desires to give back to the community by complimenting band, choral and church programs in the Madison county community. New Songs goal is to equip students of all ages and abilities to develop skills that create a lifetime of love and enjoyment of music which honors our creator.

New Song School of Fine Arts brings highly qualified college trained staff and top rate programs right to North Huntsville offering private instrumental and group preschool music to ensure programs designed for the goals and desires of each student. New Song started serving the Huntsville area in 2004 and has rapidly grown to include two other campuses; one in Hampton Cove and another in Madison. The Madison location also provides a quality ballet dance program. New Song students have performed at the Madison Street Festival and conducts regular recitals for the community

Fall Lessons start August 1. Registration has begun so you need to register if you have not or update your information. Bring your teacher evaluation or pick up yours when you register. Ages 3 placement by approval of teacher. Annual Registration Fee is due in July.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Summer. We are glad to have lessons once again underway and look forward to experiencing these next few months together with you, culminating in our Christmas performances.

We have added some new teachers to our staff and now have space available for dance classes. We have listed our new dance classes below and at the Front Desk. These classes will be under way as we have enough on the waiting list to commence.

We are implementing a new computer based scheduling and registration system. If your family had any changes to your phone number, cell number, address, and/ or e-mail please let our staff know at the front desk so that we have the most current information on hand for keeping you informed.

Coming In October

Bring a friend week
We are always excited to give our students the opportunity to have a friend join them in a music lesson or dance class so that they can see what you are learning. Our Spring BRING A FRIEND WEEK is always the last week of October. At that time, your teacher will give you a special invitation to take home to give to the friend you wish to bring. If your friend decides to take lessons here you will be eligible for a FREE lesson. So invite friends now.

Christmas Recital Information

We are excited about our annual Christmas Recitals which will held on May 9 our own facility in Madison. There will be 6 different ones from 9:00am to 4:30 pm. Please see your individual teacher for times and details. We expect all students to participate in the recital and be prepared to show us how they have progressed this year. If you need someone to accompany you, you may need to sign-up for an extra rehearsal time. Teachers and advancing students are available to accompany you. Please see your teacher or the front desk person to make arrangements. Anyone that would like extra practice time can request it or come to the recital hall Friday afternoon before the recital.

Faculty Performances
Our schools is proud to have an incredibly talented group of musicians teaching our students. Our teachers not only are wonderful instructors, but many are active performers as well. Some of these teachers will be performing at recitals. These performers have a mix of every type of music from gospel to jazz to classical. We invite all students to come and be inspired. It is very motivating to see the result of lots of practice, hard work and talent culminating in musicians who entertain, awe and inspire.
