Classical Ballet

The curriculum for this program is divided into different levels and provides professional training in classical ballet. Advancement is determined by the student’s progress in developing technical skills and strength.

  • Ballet 1-3
    • Establishes basic ballet vocabulary, barre and center work, spatial awareness, coordination of the arms and legs.
  • Ballet 4
    • Continues training of ballet vocabulary by establishing more complex material such as pirouettes, more difficult jumps, port de bras and musicality.  For girls, pre-pointe training (ankle strength, alignment, endurance) is added to their weekly class schedule, totaling two required classes.
  • Ballet 5
    • Builds on Ballet 1-4 material by raising the level of difficulty of already established exercises and adds new vocabulary. Two weekly technique classes are required for this level. For girls, pointe training is added as a third class.

Beginner Teen Ballet

Establishes basic ballet vocabulary, barre and center work, spatial awareness, coordination of the arms and legs. This class is perfect for the older beginner who doesn’t want to be in class with young girls.

Teen/Adult Ballet

If you danced as a child and would like to begin again, or wanted to dance and never had the chance, this program is for you. Various levels of experience are accommodated. Classes are designed to enhance each dancer’s experience to the fullest in a stimulating, creative and accepting atmosphere.

Class Placement

Beginning Ballet/ Ballet Prep 2nd Grade

(Must be 7 years old by September 1st)

Beginner Pre-Teen Ballet Ages 10-13 with little or no previous study

*Ballet I 3rd – 5th Grade with pre pointe

*Ballet II 5th – 7th Grade with beginning pointe

*Ballet III 7th – 12th Grade 2 classes per week

*Ballet IV 3 classes per week

*Ballet I – IV Student will be placed in the appropriate level based on experience.
